Heat laminating is a process
that seals paper between two sheets of tough, protective clear
plastic by heating the plastic while pressing it flat with a special
machine. |
|
|
Cold Laminating is the same
process without using heat. Cold laminating is preferred for
photographs and delicate objects that may be damaged by heat. |

What do people laminate? |
|
|
- Signs, menus, posters or price lists.
- Any printed sheet that is frequently used for reference
- Labels and tags
- Copies of legal documents. Some documents say "Do
Not Laminate", but you can laminate a copy for your
records.
- Business cards
- Luggage tags - Use a business card, index card, picture or
artwork to create your own tags. We have plastic
loops for attaching them to the luggage.
- Anything made of paper that you want to use, preserve,
protect, or wipe clean.

|
|
Other things to consider: |
|
|
- When the document is laminated by either the hot or cold
method, it cannot be removed from the plastic without
damage. If you will want the original in unlaminated
condition, it is best to make a copy and laminate the
copy.
- Creative shapes can be laminated and cut out after
lamination. Eye catching signs, displays and tags
can be made this way.
- Tassels and other decorations could be added after
lamination for added interest.
- More than one layer of paper can be laminated together
for a collage effect.
